Active Aging


Bring Your Friend for Free Day

Sports West Athletic Club’s Functional Fitness for Active Aging program is putting on a FREE Event on Thursday, May 24th, 2018 at 10:45 AM.

Join Sports West Personal Trainers Sandi Meyer and Erika Boone in the front lobby. We'll be here to tell you about our Sports West Programs for Seniors. Join us for informative literature and refreshments!

Join us Thurs May 24th at 10:45 AM for another exciting Active Aging event. Last time we talked about fall prevention. This time, we'll start with a short lecture about what to do if you do take a fall. Meet us at the Jungle Gym at 10:45 AM. We'll finish up by moving to the lobby for refreshments, and we'll also have info about our senior programs.

Bring a friend for free, and they can try out our Functional Fitness Class at 10:15 AM (before the event), or, they can try Hydro-Fit Aquatics at 10!

Lap Swim 101

With Master Swim Coach Scott Young

Learn the basics of lap swimming, so that you too can get a great workout in the pool!

Class will include: pool etiquette, lane sharing, choosing your lane, using a pace clock, breathing technique, necessary equipment, how to read a swim workout, dry land and in-water instruction, freestyle stroke development, introduction to the 4 competitive strokes (fly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle.) Sports West Master Swim Coach Scott Young will teach this once a month class, open to all members who want to learn!

Sports West Indoor Cycling

Cycling 101

Of course we can teach these classes better than anyone else because we have the new Matrix ICG7 bikes. If you haven't used them before, we have a FREE intro class on the first Saturday of every month, 8- 8:30AM with Trainer and Cycling Instructor Sandi Meyer.

Next Cycling 101 class will be on Saturday, June 2nd at 8 AM.
