How Fast Can YOU Do 40 TRX® Atomic Push-Ups and 40 TRX® Rows?

This month, we challenge you to find out! See one of our Fitness Staff to get started.

You can compete in either the Expertstrong> or Sport Categories, with botn Men's and Women's divisions.
Expert Category: 40 TRX atomic push-up and 40 TRX rows (done as fast as possible with good form) Sport Category:strong> 40 TRX push ups and 40 TRX rows(Winners declared for each category and times will be posted). br Once your times have been recorded, your name will be entered into our monthly PRIZE drawing!

To kick of 2018, on January 18th, Eric will be discussing: Nutrient Timing and Synergy; What are the Facts?

Be sure to join us, as Eric explains the science behind nutrient timing, knowing what to eat and when, and which foods work the best together - to help you to successfully achieve your health & fitness goals. Free to all members!

Yoga for Back Pain

Don’t Suffer! Learn to Heal with this Special Yoga Workshop!

Sports West Yoga kicks off our Workshops 2018 season with Dotty Molt's Yoga for Back Pain workshop on Sunday, January 21st, 2018, 10:30 AM - Noon.

Are you a Runner/Skier/hiker/biker? Do you sit or stand all day? Do you experience extended periods where your back hurts?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, You probably have a tight Iliopsoas muscle, along with tight lats, obliques, erector spinea, hamstrings, and glutes. Is there one pose that will cure all of these issues? Not exactly, but many of our yoga poses are designed to stretch the areas around the hips, which can help to alleviate back pain.

For this workshop, here's a brief overview of what we'll be doing: first, we'll begin with gentle, movement-based flow to warm the body. Then, we'll discuss and practice strength poses. This will be followed by an all-out, on-the-floor hip-opening sequence that will leave you peaceful, and hopefully, pain free!

Please note that this class is presented as a form a self-therapy, which is safe for most people. If you have a fused spine, torn ligaments, and/or have been under a doctor’s care for any type of low back pain, we ask that you please consult your physician before participating in this class.

Cycling 101

Of course we can teach these classes better than anyone else because we have the new Matrix ICG7 bikes. If you haven't used them before, we have a FREE intro class on the first Saturday of every month, 8- 8:30AM with Trainer and Cycling Instructor Sandi Meyer.

Next Cycling 101 class will be on Saturday, February 3rd at 8 AM.

Join Sports West Personal Trainers Sandi Meyer and Erika Boone in the front lobby. We'll be here to tell you about our Sports West Programs for Seniors. Join us for informative literature and refreshments!

Thursday, January 25th is bring a friend to Sports West for Free Day! You and your friend can attend our Active Aging Event, AND try our Functional Fitness class (Thursday, 10:15 AM), or Hydro-Fit Aquatics (Thursday, 10 AM).
